Sponsors

What do we expect from our sponsors in the capstone showcase?

1-   Attending  and providing testimonials of capstone teams performance and feedback about your participation in the capstone program

2-   Supporting their teams by facilitating presentation resources such as extra laptops, monitors, projectors, screens and extension cords.

3-   Covering printing costs for their teams for printing and preparing posters, flyers, brochures and hand-outs that are usually beyond our budget capability (an average of $100 per team). As a thank you, we will keep students posters with their sponsors

4-   Supporting or sponsoring general capstone showcase costs such as: students' lunch, cost of renting table and chairs, telecommunication cost (wiring and labor). Media services costs (labor), cost of supplies and awards (name tags, signs, balloons, banners, cost of certificates prizes,  etc)

5-  Helping us marketing and advertising the event  and reaching out to people through all possible channels such as: TV, Radio, Newspapers, your website, other affiliated websites,  your business connections and partners, employees, students connections friends, families, etc.

Unlike any other traditional program, the capstone program is a unique and dynamic learning organization that is owned by all and its responsibility is shared by all. As a state university with  limited resources, the capstone program completely depends on sponsors support in all its funding. This semester we are officially inviting our sponsors to compete in supporting the capstone program and our students in this showcase. We will have judges not only to asses our students' teams but also to evaluate sponsors level of support, commitment and dedication. Our judges will represent students, alumni, parents, advisors and university staff or faculty.

We have 50 NJIT student interns who are studying information technology and computer science, working on eight projects. Having them work for us has allowed us to jump ahead in our work.

CIT has been a sponsoring company of the capstone graduation projects with NJIT since January 2003. The opportunity for students to integrate real world experience in to their otherwise academic experience is invaluable to them and to us.  Our collaboration has seen some very quick responsiveness to our ever growing technical demands. We are able to leverage cutting edge technologies like .Net and Microsoft’s SharePoint portal server quickly by sharing this academic relationship

As a whole the team preformed extremely well. The direction given by TMS was an outline. The team was able to understand what we were looking for and implement our needs into the finished program.

This was a huge project and required much attention to detail.  The team asked the right questions and wee very helpful to Arc of Monmouth staff in deciphering what needed to be done.  They provided many useful suggestions.

This group hung in there and were able to work around these problems and move steadfastly through the project. This group communicated well and worked very efficiently. They were always on time for the meetings and handled themselves in a very professional manner.  I was very impressed with the work that they did. They fulfilled all of our needs and produced a product that is above and beyond what we expected.  Overall all I was pleased and would look forward to participating in upcoming projects.

It has been a great pleasure working with Imran & Group. Their professional approach to the project has been excellent and the results can be seen in the project release.  They came in to a project from ground scratch and have successfully laid the foundation for further developments.  Because of the short time available, the group did not manage to fully complete the project.  They were able to establish the design, population of the Web Database, programming of dynamic PHP catalog and shopping cart.

I was so impressed with the whole process.  I am amazed at how talented, professional and responsive the team was to the project.  The group of students that worked on this project quickly understood the scope and was able to deliver the requested tool within a very short period of time.  The entire experience was one that I am going to recommend to other managers at IMS.

What can sponsors gain from capstone showcase participation and support?

Sponsors attendance in the showcase is highly expected and strongly recommended.  We consider sponsors support in our showcase as a significant factor in considering their future proposals.

In addition to the social responsibility toward youth education, the capstone showcase also brings a number of benefits to participating sponsors:

1-  Sponsors will have a unique opportunity to collect feedback about their products and services from a large number of people across industry, academia, government and community.

2- Sponsors will have a free opportunity to market their products and services as this showcase also connects sponsors to many potential customers, partners, collaborators and subject matter experts.

3-  Sponsors will have be able to see all our capstone students in action and use this event as a genuine career fair opportunity  for employment, co-op and internships (more than 30 teams of graduate, undergraduate and  high school students will be presenting their real world projects)

4-  Sponsors will be able to build initial connections and potential future teams in advance for the Spring 2008 semester as I will invite our Spring 2008 students to this event.

5-  Sponsors will be able to expand their connections with university faculty, a larger pool of students and a broader university resources  as well as learning about our genuine high school programs – where our highly talented HS (and Middle school) students are re-defining K-12 education.

6- Sponsors will have their participation covered by internal and external media and PR – with possible coverage from Star Ledger, Daily Records, CBS news and News 12 NJ – not to mention our capstone program publications and websites.
